Dr. Chih-Ming "Jimmy" Yu

Dr. Chih-Ming "Jimmy" Yu

DVM, MPH, ECFVG

Dr. Yu is a graduate of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, and obtained the Taiwanese veterinarian license in 1993. He is a life member of the Chinese Society of Veterinary Sciences. He came to America and earned his master's degree in Public Health from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA. He received further training at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. He worked at the Greenbrier Animal Hospital in Evansville, IN, for five years and began to use a surgical laser in various surgeries. He established the U-Vet Animal Clinic in 2010, and continue to provide laser surgery for the tri-state area.

Dr. Yu is also a member of local & national veterinary associations such as AVMA, INVMA, SWINVMA, AAHA, VIN, and IVPA. Dr. Yu has a particular interest in patients with skin issues, Diabetes, Cushing's, Addison's, and tumors.

Dr. Yu and his wife, Fu-Mei, and their daughter, An-Ping, moved to Evansville in 2005. They live with three dogs, Do-Do, Brody, & Coffee, two rescued cats, Bean, & Rocky, and 16 hens.

DVM

Dr. Turpen completed her DVM in 2016 at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her passions include avian medicine and behavior medicine. After graduation she pursued further education in avian and exotic pet medicine by completing a Zoological Companion Animal Internship the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

She also pursued continuing education in behavior medicine and obtained her Low Stress Handling Silver Certification and Fear Free Certification. She greatly values the human-animal bond and maintaining it. She focuses on providing pets with the veterinary care they need while decreasing their fear and anxiety. Dr. Turpen’s personal interests include knitting, animal training, reading, and dancing.

She is currently the fur-mother of an Australian Shepherd, two cats, and a green cheek conure.
